A new excuse

So, I neglected to get up and work out this morning...

Again...

But, I have a new excuse to add to my list...

Anthony (age 4, almost 5) came downstairs to our room around 2am and asked if he could get into bed with us.

I always thought that having a first floor master bedroom, with the kids' rooms upstairs was a good thing. Most days, I like it. I can get up and get ready for work without disturbing anyone. And, you know, there are other benefits...this is a nice girl's blog, though, so I won't go into those...

Anyway, one of the ways that it's NOT good to have a first floor bedroom is that I'm way too, well, asleep, to get up at 2am and escort Anthony back to bed. Even if I could rouse myself to get up, he's just so darn cute, I'm not sure I would. And, he the youngest, which means he gets extra favor for climbing in bed with us at 2am...

So, when the alarm went off this morning, I had to turn it off quick -- so that he wouldn't wake up...poor little guy. And, I couldn't get up and work out in our room (where the elliptical machine is) because then I'd wake him up.

Darn.

Foiled again.

However, I have to say that I was kinda upset about the whole thing. I really wanted to exercise this morning.

Oh well...

I'll try again tomorrow...

Yeah, I keep trying the same thing every Monday. I'm going to get up at 5:30, read and exercise. I woke up at 5:30 this morning, had a head full of snot and a sore throat. I promptly rolled over and went back to sleep till 7:00.
And then I see Steve Nixon's facebook post about waking up at 4:30 and walking 4 miles. Maybe we should slap him, I mean tell him to call and get our booties out of bed when he does!

What about me? Am I so darn cute that you don't want to wake me either?

Oh, Ann...
This post made me chuckle. The great response from your husband - wondering what you will say to that one?
I love that you are concerned about being a nice girl's blog and not say why you like your bedroom away from your kids' rooms...(btw, my 13-year old is a few feet from ours now. Can you say awkward?)
Yeah, he really is darn cute and yeah, Kelly should slap Steve Nixon. He's just showing off now...

Nick, you are so cute that I might want to wake you up...but, once again, this is a nice girl's blog, so I'll have to explain that later.

Kelly, I have to agree with Melanie -- no asking show-off Steve for help -- the slap sounds much better to me!

Melanie, another update -- I actually got up this morning and worked out...not for as long as I had hoped to, but at least it was something!
